What is Flutter By?
Move in front of one Flutter By and the display on its partner is activated, creating a mysterious sense of your presence far away. Each device has a PIR sensor that picks up movement and signals their partner devices. Movements are shown by a variety of ambient movements that are easy to see without being distracting.
How to use Flutter By
Flutter By come in pairs and are connected on the internet. Simply position the devices in areas you’re likely to be around, and they do the rest. You don’t need to trigger them: their partner devices will indicate your activity automatically as you go about your day-to-day life.
Flutter By create a space of realtime fun
Flutter By are gentle communicators that allow activities in one place to create subtle indications in another place – like curtains swaying when someone walks by on the other side. They are triggered via a motion sensor so you don’t need to press any buttons: just set them running and they’ll do their thing. The question becomes, where should they go?
Position them in your living rooms to know when you’re hanging out at the same time.
Put them on your desks and you can feel like virtual workmates.
Use them in your kitchens so you can prepare meals side by side, sort of.
We’re showing different ways we have made the Flutter By displays, some using the fans as motors, others using the wind they produce. There’s lots of possibilities! Make one of our designs or come up with your own.
